Analog media was better and more fair to artists, and easier to make money off of (why sell an album when people will stream it), and allowed people to become more intelligent and involved music fans. The digitization and non stop consumption of media cheapened it. Not to mention, I’d bet 90% of young Americans have never heard a good home stereo that actually represents how the music is supposed to sound.
And no, I’m not 80 years old!
Do you guys also keep a notepad file on your desktop with all the usual commands and shortcuts on it? I can’t imagine remembering them all otherwise… and I kind of cringe at the non stop DDG ing I have to do to do some basic liux stuff.
Question on things like this. Do we only prefer these because of true nostalgia, or because everything truly is worse now? I am unsure how one can have nostalgia for a time before they were even alive, but that seems to be a strong sentiment among many young people I’ve talked to. I know my most enjoyable days are turning off my phone and watching vhs tapes and playing ps1/atari. I truly think those times were far better than now.
This is why I go the extra mile to keep iot out of my life. Especially in cars , which is getting hard, but I figure my future cars I’ll likely retrofit something old. Newest I’ll tolerate is 2014, with no touchscreen.
It’s depressing seeing this in my city. Full groves of trees and fields ripped up and destroyed for another McDonald’s and more and more apartments. It never ends does it ?
Stop buying new cars until they remove this bullshit. We can go 40 years with existing cars without buying a single new one.

Actually heard this yesterday. The brainrot going around is that big companies like Nike will be forced to move mfg back to the US so America can make things again. We’ll, it’s not going to work like that… the corporations spent years gutting their American factories and sending them overseas because they don’t want to pay a living wage. But the non informed folk apparently want their children to work in factories for 2 cents an hour and be forced to give birth to more factory workers who will by that time be little more than serfs.
