If there is one think gnome has going for it is careful UI design. They spend years perfecting something.

They spend years perfecting something.

Perfecting removing basic features like minimize button and forbidding proper theming?

But have they made it any better?

Gets better with every release, just like basically any DE.

It looks alright but the UX is IMO bad.

The UX is probably the best thing about it. Better than anything else by a long shot. I really wish others would catch up and abandon the Windows 95 UX. They’re just so clunky and stuck in the past.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word “Linux” in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
