Maybe not everyone wants to hand Google or OpenAI their data or custom?

And this hardware will no doubt be used for more than that anyway.

Orcs, Goblins, and Hobgoblins are all terms used by Tolkien, but they all refer to the same beings and are used interchangeably.

Yeah. There still haven’t been any votes on this though, so it can’t be true.

Unless they mean in a phonecall opinion polling or something.

TL;DR: endlessly dumping more power into this CPU doesn’t result in a linear increase in performance (just like every other CPU), so it’s completely unnecessary to run this at 300W.

I find this hard to believe considering there hasn’t been a referendum on the subject, and voting stations don’t allow multiple people to vote together anyway unless it’s a parent taking their child.

Most of the costumes in the show are very, very good tbf. It’s something they generally did well. Same goes for the props.

I also wouldn’t really compare heavy “in battle” armour against some more casual armour that he wore off-duty.

E: Here is Elendil’s battle armour, which is probably a more apt comparison to Boromir’s heavy armour.

Personally, I was overall disappointed with DIS. But when watching it there was the occasional moment that I loved. Lorca was a great character (until they did the haha he’s actually super space Hitler rug-pull), much of the props, set designs, and costumes were great, Mudd was superb, it introduced us to Anson Mount’s Pike and led to SNW, Saru was genuinely one of the most interesting characters in all of Trek, etc.

It also had a bunch of stuff that I just really really didn’t like. But meh. That’s just, like, my opinion maaaaann.

Ok so literally not what you’re after, because I do like LD.

However, sometimes it feels a bit too Rick and Mortyish for my taste. Mariner could shout “Wubalubadubdub haha, amarite guys??” and it would seem completely in character both with her and the show.

I guess it makes a lot of sense considering they poached some talent from the R&M team, and LD was greenlit after executives saw how popular R&M was (the same is true for multiple other sci-fi comedy cartoons).

I still like it, but I can’t sit and watch like 4 episodes in one sitting like I could with DS9 or SNW.

Yeah. I do find her “shamanism” to be something to eyeroll at, but her actual work experience shows her running multiple non-profits, and by all accounts she did a decent job at Gnome.

Clearly her shamanism BS didn’t actually affect her ability to work at Gnome or the other places she’s worked.

You can be an absolute moron/a crazy person in some areas, whilst simultaneously being qualified to do some difficult jobs.

Steve Jobs thought a fruit diet would cure pancreatic cancer, but he still had the chops to run Apple. A certain GNU figure that the Linux community loves has some, uh, unusual views on whether children can consent to sex or not, but he was still a great programmer and advocate for FOSS. I have a friend who thought Manchester, not London, was the capital of England, yet he works as an aeronautical engineer (and not for Boeing lol) in a senior design position.

I know, I have one running locally on my PC, it’s neat.

I still don’t think that changes my point, though - that a large AI model, particularly one that can scrape the whole web of any content it can find, then immediately be used to generate a practically infinite amount of content in seconds is very different to the idea of a little 8 year old in a library reading books then writing something himself.

And I still maintain that companies aren’t people and shouldn’t necessarily have the same rights as a person.
