No advertising. Accounts whose sole use is to advertise products or services will be banned.

Be civil. You are not only representing yourself, but also this instance. Please be nice.

Keep it legal. Don’t use this instance to host illegal activities.

The admin receives all reports to your account, even from other instances/communities. Multiple genuine reports may trigger an evaluation of your account being banned.

Due to a recent influx of spam accounts, registrations now require new users to tell me why they want to join this instance. The application will be used to manually spot repeated spammers. Users with throw-away email accounts will be denied.

Instance hosting

Hosted on non-rented Enterprise hardware at a datacentre near me.

I strive to keep the system online 100%, however it is a hobby project so bear with me if there are problems.

Snapshots are taken every 20 minutes and kept for 3 days. Immutable backups are performed nightly and kept for 12 months. Backups are replicated off-site to my home.

Major upgrades will be performed some weeks after they are made available, unless urgent (ie. security issue). This allows major bug reports to be actioned upon.

I work in the UK as an IT consultant with customers in the UK, EEA and the middle east.

My hobbies are Linux infrastructure, raising chickens, PC gaming and of course my great family 🥰
