ā€œIā€™d like to give you a little bit of advice around the mediaā€¦My strong advice and request to everybody is just donā€™t engage with the media. If youā€™re approached, I would recommend not responding and, if necessary, simply refer them to our own media organization.ā€

Theyā€™re spiraling, they dont know how to do damage control and are afraid this will spawn copycats. It should. If you want to be a dragon, dont complain when knights show up to slay you.

I have a feeling that this might be pushing any new shooters to start going after the rich. They end up being treated like heroā€™s and their names stick around. After all most just wanted the recognition.

Iā€™ve never in my entire life wanted something more than to see copycats going after the C-Suite of places that put profits over people, especially when theyā€™re running a company that should not exist. Because then maybeā€¦ politicians will finally get some meaningful reforms. Because they sure as hell donā€™t care about dead kids. Thoughts and prayers!!!

Thatā€™s actually how itā€™s supposed to work. You donā€™t talk and you refer question askers to PR, HR, and lawyers. Iā€™ve always been instructed this for any organization I worked for.

I worked in preclinical drug development and then another was marketing for child care. It was kind of the norm for everything, not just crisis.

I donā€™t remember the story well enough, but we may have to re-write the story of Sir Gawain and the Black Knight after this.

Andrew Witty btw. Thatā€™s the new United Health CEO. I expect good things to come from him very soon.

Edit: as mentioned below, heā€™s CEO of the parent company, not the replacement CEO

Heā€™s been the CEO of UnitedHealth Group for 3 years now. UnitedHealth Care is a subsidiary, their CEO was the one shot. Best I can tell they havenā€™t announced a replacement yet.

I know the org intimately. This this exactly correct. Most of their business is B2B. UHC is actually a fairly small slice of the pie. They have literally dozens of CEOs. The one killed is the CEO of the healthcare insurance entity.
