It might make more CO2 on average, considering the higher energy requirements to transport and store LNG, and direct leaks/flaring of CH4 is a hot greenhouse gas. But burning natural gas also doesn’t dump out gigatons of toxic coal ash that completely destroys any water table in the vicinity, empty sulfur and heavy metals and radioactivity into the atmosphere, cause acid rain…

No fossil fuel is perfect but natural gas burns so goddamn clean, its a lot fucking better than a 1700’s level coal fuel source

I’m Skeptical; it’s not peer-reviewed. His findings and methodologies have been historically quite controversial. That said, a lot of oligarchs definitely oppose his position and can fund a lot of naysayers. He says it needs to be rushed to inform policy, policy will still be there if they take a few months for some credible institutions to review. Hell depending on the incoming election, policy changes might not even have a chance of going into effect.
