I’m all for it. Love the Riddick franchise, so fun.
I don’t care what people say. I like these movies. They’re not good, but they’re fun
THANK YOU!
I always say a fun “bad” movie is often better than a high production value meh movie.
Give me comic book ridiculous Hellboy, not some serious brooding slop.
I want the movie to understand exactly what it is, and lean into it.
Give me Spaceballs. Give me Godzilla. I have seen so many “artsy” films. sometimes I just want to watch a guy punch another guy with a teacup so hard he dies, and scare three other dudes with a can opener.
Sometimes I just want to see a couple normal looking people absolutely wreck a gang of thugs who underestimated their opponent.
And hope if they make sequels, the sequels don’t get too full of themselves.
The Fast and the Riddickulous
They should make another game while they’re at it. Escape From Butcher Bay was heaps of fun back in the day.
Encountering videos of him in real-life has had a sort of Steven Seagal-esque effect on my ability to enjoy his movies.
This. Guy is weird af in real life. I’m willing to ignore it all for 2 hours of another Riddick film is as good as the previous ones but I’m no fan of this guy anymore after some of the videos I’ve seen of his behavior off set.
Another actor that Hollywood just turned into a freak.
I have a very brief Ron Perlman story: I went into my favorite North Hollywood diner one day and as I was walking in, I turned and saw Ron Perlman. He looked at me, gave me a brief look that communicated, “yes, you recognize me. Not now.” in a way that only Ron Perlman could do. I wasn’t going to talk to him anyway, so I was fine with that. But that guy is damn good at giving you that sort of “don’t bother me right now” look and you don’t feel like he’s being a dick about it.
Sounds on brand for Ron, tbh. I wouldn’t look at him poorly over that, personally.
Chronicles is under-rated. It’s Macbeth in space with Riddick in the Macduff role, but I guess people just didn’t want a movie about Macduff. ;)
It’s honestly my favorite of the bunch. The Pitch Black /Riddick monster plot style dying one by one has never appealed to me in any genere. I loved the mystic sci-fi space world building that was going in Chronicles. Does it do it better than a movie like Dune? No, but this also came out a very long time ago.
