How was this meeting not a violation of the Logan Act?
It was, as was his meeting with Orban. But as we’ve seen many times, trump is apparently immune to prosecution.
I loath Trump but he isn’t the only president to get special privileges, he just sucks at covering it up or he doesn’t care.
Trump is already resembling Maduro, making threats if he loses the election.
He said the same thing about Hillary. He said the same thing about Biden.
Yeah remember when he lost to Biden and then nothing happened and he and his supporters participated in a completely peaceful transfer of power just like normal?
I’m pretty sure that WWIII didn’t then follow that event, which is the point. Trump has been consistently saying a nuclear war will happen if you don’t elect him since 2016.
Guys, guys, relax, maybe he just means a “third-world” war.

The term “third-world” has been replaced with “developing nation.” The US was downgraded to a developing nation by the UN.
Why the hell is this man who does not hold public office and is not an official representative of the United States meeting with world leaders at all?

It’s opposite day in Trump world, again. What he means is that if he wins the election and allows Russia to win in Ukraine as he absolutely will, the Baltics and Taiwan are next, probably simultaneously so that NATO is overwhelmed and the whole world is forced into this century’s first world war.
But of course, he will spin this as “fostering peace” with China and Russia, because presidents who don’t simply Art of the Deal their way out of wars (read: selling off countries that aren’t theirs) are losers. The whole “oh no we’re in a war now” thing will be studiously avoided until the next election, or at least the US getting involved in such a war, because then it’s some other sucker’s problem.
