Indeed, I find Sportsball not terribly interesting, and think it gets too much pride of place in news media (not being able to separate Sports from “Breaking News” push notifications on the Guardian app back when I had it, comes to mind. Grumble, grumble).

I don’t begrudge anyone who enjoys it though. Everyone has their own interests!

For selfish reasons, I’m pretty glad Lemmy isn’t terribly interested. It saves me from having to filter out the biggest sports communities like I had to on Reddit.

It’s more like an illustration of Reddit turning into a useless bunch of fluff. I don’t know anything about golf or that guy, it just happened to be the top fluff when I posted.

There are plenty of valid reasons to find sports boring. Yes playing some in person is fun but it’s totally valid to dislike watching or hearing about them.

I like real sportsball. But, you’re talking about golf. I don’t know or care who rory macrory is and I couldn’t care less. Golf isn’t a real sport, it’s dudes walking around on a pretty lawn then occasionally whacking something with a club.

I suppose they both have managed to get hole in ones?

And yet, this is top on Lemmy. Maybe because you don’t get banned for mentioning Mario’s brother here.

Luigi didn’t murder anyone. The evidence they planted on him doesn’t make any sense

People watch more TV about murders than golf.

I think just by longevity within the human experience that murder is far more popular.

Don’t know about that. ESP. Here. How many people like golf? How many people like Luigi and his crusade? Because they think that Luigi, who is innocent, might have murdered someone.
