I see this going further underground as fascism takes over. The corporate influence was bad enough before but with the Nazis in coming to power again, many of us are going to have to dive underground.

Imagine such absurdity. The Internet. The land of “forbidden knowledge.”

Manufacturers are contemplating how to win back control over the UI of their vehicles. They remain completely oblivious to why CarPlay succeeded in the first place.

I use both of these systems daily. They have some issues but are just fine for me. Honestly, they are just opposite extremes and I respect that. They each chose a side.

Whereas windows makes me scream. It’s absolute horseshit that pretends to claim some middle ground that makes no one happy.

Hyundai EVs really are good. They made absolutely terrible gas cars but chose the transition to EVs to make new company out of themselves and they did an absolutly incredible job. They make some of the best EVs in the market.

When testing for permissions, I still giggle over trying to execute “touch this” then being told “can’t touch this”

rockchip based SBCs are powerful enough for general-purpose use. Some of the companies behind them are american like PINE64 but most arent. There’s a promising board called the orion o6 coming out of china but its still really young in its development and support lifecycle and its hard to source.

ARM isnt very powerful outside Apple stuff, but it’s good enough for most users now. RISC-V is the future but its performance is terrible right now and the price is high. If you are planning for like 5 years ferom now, consider RISC-V. Otherwise, it’s x86 or ARM for most people.

The Orion O6 is coming out soon and promises some decent flexibility with ARM. Its not as great as Ampere’s offerings but its good enough for now and much cheaper.
