Not necessarily. He did very well on the vote share front. There will be a leadership review, but I could see him getting a second shot once Carneys shine has worn off. Minority governments seldom last very long.

That’s the reason the PC and Reform parties merged back in the 90s. FPTP incentives two party races, this election is a stark example.

Interestingly, Poilievre got more votes in Ontario than Doug did in the February provincial election. If the NDP vote hadn’t collapsed the way it did he could easily have won.

Attack the idea, not the source. Are there errors in the article?

The Quebec language police with an Anglaiscisme in their name gets slapped down. What a waste of time and money.

Has Carney said anything about this? I hope he does, but I don’t see why he would. He’s still got all the people around him who didn’t deliver it last time.

Doug Ford better not become prime minister.

Interesting how it’s changed over the years. I was a deputy returning officer a few elections ago and the official line then was that pencil was the accepted implement because it was less likely to smudge and spoil a ballot.

Of course, you’d have to make sure the pens were all the same colour, otherwise it could be used to mark ballots (I. E. I use my green pen to prove I voted for so and so). That could circumvent the secret ballot.

I would have checked that, but it’s all too plausible.
