To your last point, believe it or not, but planes are getting significantly more efficient. Huge wide-bodies like the 747 are retiring in part because airlines don’t want to lug around 4 engines, when the 787 can do the same trip with 2.

The a320 neo has a much better engine than previous generations, and same thing with the 737 max (crashing problems aside).

Private != Jet though, a 172, while still not the most efficient method of travel is much different than a leerjet.

Sync gained a big following because it had a core feature many many moons ago, when having constant cell service was much less common, it allowed you download and save hundreds of posts and all the comments while you were on wifi, so you could browse reddit offline, it did this automatically and in the background (based on your settings ) hence the name ‘Sync’. This was a killer feature back in the day, at least for me. As that became less of a need, the app continued to change and add a lot of nice features, like lots of customizations, random NSFW, a very good OLED dark mode, etc, so there was no point in switching to something else.

My .02¢

This cracks me up because it is often said with such confidence, but it is just wrong.

If you have 10 people, 8 have an intelligence score of 1, 1 has a score of 5 and 1 has a score of 10. The average is 2.3 which means that 80% of the people are below average.

The median is the only thing that is going to guarantee 50%.

Anon didn’t watch the movie then. Spoiler: there are multiple killers and it’s a planned murder of people they know.

Edit: also the movie is a satire on the slasher genre anyway.

Edit again: >!also they use guns and stuff in the movie, it’s like a whole thing!<

Sure, but scream is actually one. They directly poke at famous slashers, they explore the tropes of the genre in a meaningful way, and they do it with a conversation with the audience.

A lot of slashers are goofy and almost fit the ‘satire’ bill in the sense that they know they are cheesy or don’t take themselves seriously, like evil dead for example, but they, imo, for the most part categorically don’t fit as satire truly.

Movies like cabin in the woods and behind the mask are a closer fit since they intentionally deconstruct the genre, but they do generally lack a bit of what most people consider traditional satire, which is comedy. (funny moments, but not like scream which almost seems to toe the line into parody at times)

I guess, in my opinion a b movie or z movie (Winnie the Pooh, as a semi recent example) doesn’t make it satire just because it knows it’s bad.

Some very small percentage of people will switch to Linux, the majority of people will just continue to use windows 10.

Directories are nice because they easily and clearly filter information in a human way and they naturally build a tree that can be parsed quickly by a person.

I like the desktop metaphor, because it’s how I think.
