Oooh. I want the cartoon mini-series Over the Garden Wall to be adapted into a stage show. With the way the episode are written, it already feels like it’s divided by scenes and acts, and it has some existing musical numbers. I think there’s a lot of room to have lighting effects and other traditional theater elements, and have longer versions of the songs to make an enjoyable version of the story on par with the cartoon in a new medium.
This lengthening of a succulent is a process known as Etiolation. It’s not getting enough light, so it’s stretching out as much as it can to try and get more light to each petal. The color change is also likely from the lack of sunlight as well. I’d suggest moving it to a window where it gets more light.
No One Knows My Plan, Dirt Bike, and Destination Moon are all top contenders on this album for me. Though knowing it’s got a big milestone happening tomorrow, I think I will give the whole album another listen and see if there are some gems I have forgotten about.
I am a huge cheekfreak, I got to see them in the spring. It was an awesome show. There’s definitely a connection between TMBG and Cheekface. (And that’s not just because of the Ana Ng cover.)
Cherkface shows a bunch of different influences. Some TMBG, some Talking Heads, some CAKE, and other things. I strongly suggest listening to basically everything they’ve released just to appreciate the lyrics. Some of the lines are weird jokes that only click after you’ve heard them a few times.
Apollo 18 was my favorite for a long time, especially listening on shuffle to give Fingertips the intended playback method. But a few years ago I really got into Factory Showroom thanks to my partner. That album is has a lot of really solid songs that showcase the range of their songwriting skills.
Also, streaming services forcing Fingertips to be a single track has made listening to Apollo 18 way less fun.
My current car is named Lizzie, after Tin Lizzie, despite the fact that it’s in great shape. The first car I had was a rusted out ‘93 Impreza we called Tin Lizzie. So when I got my newest car and the license plate started with LZZ, I took it as a sign to bring the name back.
Superman: The New Superman Adventures (AKA Superman 64). It’s a baffling time capsule of poor management, crunched game development, and lack of coherent vision (mostly due to the management thing). Is flying through the rings tough? Yup. Do the missions make no sense? Yup. Is there a charm in firing it up and remembering to be grateful you’ve lived to yet another day where you can play Superman 64? Yup.
Listen to your heart. No.
I really love Terraforming Mars, but between the huge deck of project cards, the tons of little resource cubes, and the tiles on the board, it’s a lot of pieces to manage. I have a physical copy of the game and enjoy playing it, but it’s nice to have a digital version which keeps things clean and tidy when you want to play it quickly.
