Does Hashimoto’s disease actually cause obesity? Feels like a lot of people blame thyroid diseases for issues that are actually mostly under their control.

In the grand scheme of things, weight is a physics problem. I seriously doubt that outside of extreme cases that someone would be obese solely from hyperthyroidism.

You’re always going to be judged. If you base your own happiness on the collective opinion of society about you, you will never be happy. You can’t control how other people feel, so you need to focus your mental energy on controlling your own feelings.

Shame the game wasn’t better. I wanted to like it, the voice acting was solid, but ultimately the combat was unpolished and feels like a early PS2 game.

I hate to say it but I feel like the devs are gonna blame the anti-woke backlash, and while that is obviously a factor, the game simply isn’t that great. Needed some more time in the oven IMO, there is the soul of a good game in here.

Can we talk about the guy wearing a Yankees hat and a Red Sox shirt in the thumbnail?

I’m a recent MBA grad and I can attest that stuff like this was an important part of the curriculum re: sustainable growth. Cutting corners, focusing on short term profits is always a dead end. When leaders get lazy and don’t drive a culture that is aligned with the company’s mission, values, and obligations, decay is inevitable. The Boeing board of directors is as complicit in all of this as their executives are.

I don’t necessarily believe you have to have deep expertise in a given field to govern a business in said field. Often it’s even an advantage to come in with a fresh set of eyes. But you need to at least RESPECT that field and its experts and be forthright about taking responsibility when you take action intended to eliminate waste. If the only metric you are using is revenue, or operating profit, or whatever, you are creating an organization that is incentivized to maximize those at the expense of other, core-business-critical factors. If you’re making something inconsequential, by all means take those risks and race to the bottom. But when people’s lives are at stake, you need to have reverence for what your business actually does.

The answer is Metallica and anyone who claims otherwise is failing to see the forest for the trees. A lot of the bands people are listing in this thread are virtually unheard of outside of metal fans, and while I’m sure most here would agree they are better or that you would be more excited to see them than something more mainstream - Everyone knows Metallica.

Oh boy is that a loaded question.

As someone who has played every game in the series, the trend has been to make them less like RPGs and more like action games. Gameplay wise, this was far and away the best action-y one and had a decent enough story. Anything compared to 15 would have looked like a masterpiece, lol.

I vastly prefer the more traditional RPGs overall though. 16 was a pleasant surprise since I came in with a bit of a bias against the shift towards action games, and really only gave it a shot because the director has earned a lot of credit with his handling of 14 (the MMO)

recent population studies have found that babies whose fathers drank are at a higher risk for various poor health outcomes

So they found a correlation, but the causal link implied by the headline and article sounds like a hell of a stretch.

I have not been following the accusations at all and have no comments re: their credibility.

That said, with Terry Prachett dead, why would you bother with Good Omens at all without Neil? If he steps back, that should be the death of it.
