They know to fall in-line because a strong Republican Party helps all of them, from the president, all the way down the line to locally elected candidates.

Why can’t Democrats see this?

Do they even know that??

Being good for a group of people is not the same as them knowing that you’ve been good for them. This is eternally where Democrats fall flat on their faces.

I find this data very suspect. Greece is one of the poorer countries in the EU and somehow it takes fewer generations than far more rich countries like France and Germany? The only thing that makes sense is that they mention the mean salary, so Greek wages are so low that you don’t need much to get up into the mean salary range, I guess.

Reading some of these replies in here are cringe as fuck. Not because I don’t agree with the overall sentiment, but rather in the fact that you guys don’t know what language to use. In essence, you don’t know your audience. Speak in the language that your audience can relate to.

When she says that her pay is dependent on the company performance, the reply isn’t to talk about worker this and worker that. The correct reply to that is to point out that GM stock has been essentially flat for the last 4 years. Her job as CEO is to increase value for stockholders. Stockholders haven’t seen a 40% increase in 4 years. So if shareholders haven’t seen a 40% increase in that time, then how is she justifying her pay increase.

And ultimately, her pay isn’t determined by her. It’s determined by the board of directors. And there lies the problem with all these out of control CEO salaries… it doesn’t cost anything for a director to increase some CEO’s pay. It’s not taken out of their pocket. It doesn’t affect them directly in any way, so to them it’s like monopoly money. You get a raise, and you get a raise and you get a raise. Every CEO gets a raise because the director that approves one CEO’s pay might be the CEO of another company who’s director is the other CEO who just got a raise. You scratch my back, and you scratch mine.

Seems like the equator would make a perfect location for a wind farm. Looking at this map that was posted above, just have rows and rows of them that follow the equator.

Maybe don’t take your knowledge of US politics from TVs and movies. It’s not that complicated and that’s one of the reasons why there are political parties - it is pretty reasonable to assume that if one is registered as a Democrat then they follow most democratic party ideals. And if they are registered as a Republican, then they are a worthless piece of shit. It makes picking your candidate easier even ot is an imperfect system.

Holy shit, I wish I could upvote this more than once.

In the US we live in a participatory democracy. If the citizens of this country don’t actively participate in how the government functions, then all is lost.

One of the biggest tools that fascists use to subvert the will of the people is turn off various groups from caring about what is going on. They spread misinformation about this and lies about that. They act like things can get fixed with a snap of a leader’s fingers, but that’s not how reality works, so they complain about why we still have problems.

With that comes endless conspiracies and in general a mistrust and break down of government. And it all kind of steamrolls because the fewer people who follow the news and politics closely, the easier to let corruption go unchallenged.

Outdated devices can’t run some newer apps. If yiu can’t get security updates, then some banking or online trading apps might not run. Many businesses use 2FA. I might be wrong, but if a device isn’t being updated for security then the device can’t use used for 2FA. Similar deal with using it for payment at a store or using it as your key on your newer model car.

It all starts to steamroll.

Why the hell would anyone buy these devices when the support is so short? And I’m not even specifically talking about this foldable, rather all these devices from Google and MS? You’re basically paying good money for e-waste.

Their slogan should be “here, you throw it away for us”.

I really hate Apple for other things, but they rarely pull this kind of crap when it comes to support.

I still have my Sega Genesis that I bought on launch day and up until a year ago,it still worked. Thatsa 30+ year old device. Somewhere in my parents basement is an ancient fake Walkman. It might not work as it,but but if you changed some o-rings, chances are it would work. That’s gotta be well over 35 years old. I still have G1 Transformers when they were first released. These are all items that (for the most part), still work. And yet today, people can’t even get more than 3 years on most devices. Not because the device is broken. Rather because the device is made to have a very short lifespan on purpose. This shit makes me so damn mad.

I know Europe has flirted with the idea of life cycle product management (can’t quite remember the full name). Basically manufacturers are required to take back their products at the end of their life and dispose of them properly. These kinds of programs encourage manufacturers to make their products easier to tear down, and thus also easier to repair, but also to minimize the amount of non recyclable materials. When you put the responsibility on manufacturers to take care of these things, it is in their best interests to keep their products from turning into useless e-waste. It definitely wouldn’t solve all the problems of products having super short lives, but it could help because if something is easier to tear down, then it might be easier to maintain ans possibly upgrade.

You didn’t talk about how coffins are sold for many thousands of dollars when they are just cheap plywood boxes that shouldn’t cost more than a hundred bucks and that serve no purpose other than to decay as quickly as possible.
