The articles leading up to this were great. The punditry about how Harris couldn’t afford one little gaffe or she’s sunk.

No one seemed to remember her from senate hearings. No one remembered that she was a fucking prosecutor. She made a career out of manipulating people into self-incrimination. Her livelihood was arguing people into corners they couldn’t escape. Exposing lies was her bread and butter. And she had to do so in a way that made it crystal clear to a dozen randos who were too dumb to get out of jury duty.

And Trump is a stupid, vain, easily manipulated hothead who lies about everything.

And the audience was American voters.

This is familiar territory for Harris. She knows this place like the inside of her eyelids.

Even MSNBC is heavily anti-bernie.

They called Sanders’ supporters “brownshirts,” a word they refrained from using to describe the January 6 insurrectionists.

When Harris is President, and Trump is in jail, we shall discuss the next election.

We shall not. When the time comes, we’ll be ordered to vote for Harris again and Trump still won’t be in jail. All the trials currently ongoing will have concluded unsatisfactorily or will still be ongoing. Same for any new ones that arise between now and then. When Trump finally dies, there will be someone even worse to replace him. And we’ll chase the approval of the reasonable-by-comparison trump wing of the party, just like we’re so proud to have Dick Cheney’s vote now.
