BBC bosses went the extra mile to ensure the safety of actress and comedian Diane Morgan during the filming of ‘Cunk on Life’ in Las Vegas. The security measures were put in place as a precautionary step due to an incident where Diane was almost attacked on set.

During filming, Diane found herself in a precarious situation when a drunken individual approached her aggressively. The quick actions of the security team prevented any harm from coming to the comedian, with Diane jokingly recounting the incident as a moment where she thought she might “get shot at.”

Make sure you read the travel warnings before coming here. Everyone has a gun and gets offended quite easily.

On top of that, there’s the civilians to worry about too.

From what I’ve read online the US is an absolute shithole and you ned to be armed to the teeth at all times to protect yourself.

I was wondering how this works for tourists.

  • Can you simply rent a gun at the airport? How much does that cost?
  • Does renting a gun come with some kind of instruction for those who never used one before?
  • Does a rented gun include bullets or do I have to buy those separately?
  • How many bullets do you need per day for general self-defense?
  • What to do after you shot someone? Do you need to report it somewhere so they can take away the body or is there some kind of cleaning service that sweeps the streets every day to remove all the dead bodies?
  • Are you allowed to shoot police officers if you feel threatened by them (they seem quite aggressive) or can you only shoot civilians?

-Not legally, gun rentals are exclusive to shooting ranges and they don’t let you take them off the property.

-Typically yes. Gun rentals at a range will generally include a very eager white guy who will be very happy to provide foreigners with an introduction to American gun culture, safety, and basic operating instructions.

-Gun rentals are generally rather affordable, but you will be paying for your own ammunition.

-For self-defense I’d recommend at least 300 rounds of cheap ball or wadcutter ammunition to practice with yearly, and then a box of 50 hollowpoints to keep loaded while carrying the weapon. About 1 bullet per day per gun, overall.

-Call the cops, then call a lawyer. Make sure the gun is unloaded and placed out of reach before the cops arrive. Even in clear cases of lawful self-defense you’re still going to get arrested at least temporarily and your gun seized as evidence. You can get it back after the legal process has completed, but that can take months so be sure to have a backup gun just in case. Emergency responders will haul away the body and bill their next of kin for services rendered, but crime scene cleanup is privatized so be prepared to foot the bill for getting blood out of the carpets and drapes.

-Generally, shooting cops is an express-ticket to prison and/or the afterlife, but occasionally they fuck up badly enough that even the courts can’t make excuses for them.

Then how do you survive as a tourist? Are you supposed to hire a bodyguard? That sounds expensive?

I’m not talking about practice. Just wondering how many people you have to shoot in self defense in an average week.

Sorry if I sound a bit naive but I’m from a very safe country so I have no idea what it must be like to fear for my life and fight for survival every day.

Does that mean there’s a treasure map drawn on her back? I would reach out to ask her, but you can’t see your own back.

I bet this is blown way out of proportion. Some guy who had a beer recognized Diane, security stepped in when he talked to her.

Celebrity web site makes a big deal for clicks. The article seems to suck up big time to the security team and BBC, and notice how it has zero details what actually happened.

It’s just to generate attention and ad clicks.

"It was so busy. And everyone’s naked and p***ed.

“And I was there in my tweed coat, looking like a complete lunatic. And one guy, as we were filming, made eye contact with me, and I thought, don’t look at him, don’t look at him. Don’t look him in the eyes.”

The comic continued: "And then I caught his eye, and he came over to me, this drunken guy.

“I didn’t see where he went, but apparently he was going to go for me, wasn’t he? And the security guys launched at him.”

That’s how the actress herself describes the incident, make of that what you will.

Sounds like she, as a woman, should be okay with people approach her aggressively instead of feeling uncomfortable with it. /s

I wonder why she was actively trying to avoid eye contact with him. Must be because he was behaving totally normally.

Well Cunk did say she felt like she might get shot at, but maybe that was a joke? It does seem like the sort of joke she’d make in that situation 😅

Yup it was clearly a joke. It’s her sense of humor. :)
