Funny how you had all these interviews with older MAGAs talking about their benefits and not getting enough and expecting Trump to help themā€¦

Wonder how theyā€™ll explain that.

Are they trying to start a war? Cutting benefits will make people desperate, and desperate people do desperate things.

Waiting for them to start talking about ā€œentitlementsā€.

Do I feel entitled? Well, Iā€™ve been paying into the system since 1987, shit yeah I feel entitled.

This is one of the last major things on their list of changes that they havenā€™t forced through the system yet.

I hope it hurts the right people. I donā€™t use any of that stuff and the people I know who do all vote consistently right.

Two years until there is any chance of shifting the balance. I hope these wake up but I have serious doubts that will happen. I am very confident the right wing media will convince them itā€™s the leftā€™s fault.

I donā€™t know how theyā€™ll do it but theyā€™ve honed the propaganda skills necessary to make it happen.

Seeing stuff like this hurts to read. Sure a large majority who get hurt will probably be ā€œthose peopleā€ Sure itā€™s great it doesnā€™t affect you personally. It all just sounds incredibly callous and privileged to dismiss the suffering of others.

My fiancee and her mother have been spending every minute of visiting hours at the hospital. My fianceeā€™s father has been teetering on the verge of death. Their benefits and insurance are on the cutting block. Upon hearing about this news he mother came to us crying because she doesnā€™t know what they will do without it.

These are retired veterans who put in their time and have always voted left and for progressive policies. They are also some of the most caring and supportive people Iā€™ve ever met. My fiancee often jokes that her mom loves me more than my own mother.

I donā€™t have any good solution, but it feels like it would be better not to wish for harm to befall people because it doesnā€™t impact you or any good people you know.
