The federal complaint filed Thursday charges Mangione with two counts of stalking and one count each of murder through use of a firearm and a firearms offense. Murder by firearm carries the possibility of the death penalty, though federal prosecutors will determine whether to pursue that path in coming months.
In a state court indictment announced earlier this week, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office charged Mangione with murder as an act of terrorism, which carries a possible sentence of life in prison without parole. New York does not have the death penalty.
Mangione’s lawyer, Karen Friedman Agnifilo, said it’s a “highly unusual situation” for a defendant face simultaneous state and federal cases.
“Frankly I’ve never seen anything like what is happening here,” said Friedman Agnifilo, a former top deputy in the Manhattan district attorney’s office.
Unfortunately it’s becoming more common, and it is legal
I understand the overlords have requested this guy get every charge and penalty that he can, but they have to understand that the general population sympathizes with him on some level.
The overlords don’t have to request shit, Eric Adams already gave them the keys.
This is the Forbes profile entry for the NYPD commisoner’s dad, she’s never worked in law enforcement before btw

You may notice this part:
James is CEO of Loews. His brother Andrew and cousin Jonathan are co-chairmen.
Loews is active in insurance, drilling rigs, natural gas pipelines and hotels.
The NYPD commissioner is the daughter of a billionaire CEO that’s active in the insurance industry…
Absolutely no one had to request she act like this
Loews, the hardware, home improvement and highly flammable lumber stores?
Absolutely no one had to request she act like this
Kyle Rittenhouse is free and enriching himself from his crime…
The victim doesn’t matter unless they are worth millions of dollars or stand to help others win or loss millions.
When you think about it … the system isn’t protecting people, whether they are rich or not … the system is just thinking about protecting wealth and capital.
The system protects the flow of tax dollars.
Because that’s what it consumes to survive.
Well, as long as you mean the flow of tax dollars coming from the poor and middle class. The system specifically protects the corporations and wealthy from paying their share of tax dollars
Then why do billionaires and corporations get so many tax breaks and subsidies while also getting the most protection and favorable legislation?
I think that was a foregone conclusion. I also think he was probably fully aware of that before he shot the gun.
They won’t give him the death penalty. They would have fucking riots on their hands.
Bruh…
They want riots. Didn’t you pay attention to BLM?
They’re absolutely desperate for some shit to pop off so they can call people against the American healthcare industry a violent mob.
They want anything other than a repeat
What?
We already found out if they’re going for it, they are.
Do you think they’ll get the death penalty and not enforce it?
Like, I don’t understand what you think we’ll find out later. Or why we haven’t crossed your personal threshold for them wanting the death penalty yet.
There won’t be any riots. The reason this guy acted at all is because the people are too cowed. There are thousands of people in the same position as him, but none of them are taking any action. Tens of thousands more are in a similar position, but are they already in the streets? No.
This guy is a celebrity because he’s doing what everyone wishes they could do, but are afraid to do themselves. The quick arrest and trial are to remind people of what will happen to them, too, if they step out of line.
I feel like the statistical chances this is the only guy, even just in the USA itself with a 300 million plus population, capable and willing to do this would be insane. This was domino one, we’re just waiting on the who/what domino two is.
Hopefully you’re right.
I think a big part of the problem with that coming to be so is that there is probably a majority of people who understand that our health care system is screwed and screws people over, but so many of them don’t have any idea or understanding of why. And they’re not aware of the class war.
They want to send a message: violence against those in the oligarchic hierarchy will not be tolerated.
They ain’t seen nothing yet if they make this dude a martyr. I’m not a violent person, but there’s a pent up frustration inside a lot of us just itching for a reason to come out and redistribute some wealth. Stock of United Healthcare still in the shitter? That was rich people losing billions.
That’s the only thing these parasites care about: their life and their money. We have been shown that any of us have the power to take away both in a single act of targeted violence. Once we collectively realize that, shit will go down.
