So the generic action movie everyone complains Marvel movies are these days?

It will be refreshing to not have to endure another full back story and just get on with the show.

The last film I can think to do this was Spider-Man Homecoming, which made sense since two origin stories were still fresh in everyone’s mind.

Jumping right in makes sense.

The Batman (2022) skipped the origin story as well, which was a welcome choice, given the film’s already lengthy runtime.

True. It made sense back in 80s to 2000s when the genre was new and movie audiences around the world were probably seeing these characters for the first time on the big screen.

Today, people have a substantial number of movies to check out if they want to know more about their superheroes of interest.

The only instance I can think of where an origin story is acceptable is when it ties into the main story in a substantial manner like it did in Man Of Steel (Jor El and Zod).

I’ve heard very little about this movie thus far, but I think the guy they have playing Superman, David Corenswet, has the right look.

The actor seem to have the right approach to playing the character too.

“David said something to me that really affected me,” Gunn said. “Superman wants kids to not be afraid of him. He’s an alien. He’s this incredibly powerful, could be considered scary individual and he wants people to like him. He wants to be a symbol of hope and positivity. So he dresses like a professional wrestler, he dresses in a way that makes people unafraid of him, that shows that.”

Yeah, I thought that was neat. It’s a view I hadn’t considered before.
