It’s picking up again. I’m still recovering from getting it 3 weeks ago, Paxlovid almost took care of it, but I rebounded. It immediate went to pneumonia, and AFIB from it. I had extra boosters being immunocompromised and I’m glad I did. The first time I got it was way worse.

Immunocompromised, I’m glad you took it but I’m really thinking of not taking Paxlovid next time unless there has been an update to the recommended dosage/length. I took it and basically got Covid twice in a row because I had a rebound after testing negative for 3 days.

I definitely stopped getting worse almost immediately after taking it but that was just so long in quarantine.

My partner just had it. The spin on this is funny though. Testing yourself after an exposure to be sure you don’t spread it isn’t an abundance of caution. It’s just par for the course for anyone that’s not an asshole.

Acevedo said Harris was tested for Covid-19 on Saturday “out of an abundance of caution” and the result was negative.

I got my booster last fall. I just got Covid for the first time (that I know of) last week. Thought it was a minor head cold. Didn’t get a fever, didn’t get a sore throat.

I had slight fogginess, cough, sniffles, and was a bit tired. That’s about it. Lasted about four days. My wife didn’t get it at all. I’m sure the boosters helped us… even if it waned a lot since then.

The sucky part was that it was over the holiday weekend… and not during the work week so I could take time off.

It’s wild that people still say shit like this after seeing people they know get sick with the virus three or four+ times.

I wonder if Emhoff got it from Biden.

Wouldn’t that be interesting? I know when I got COVID, the one time I got it in the last 4 years, it took me out for 3 straight days. I couldn’t imagine trying to do well in a debate while inundated with all that comes from COVID.

Since the vaccines started becoming standard, infection rates have normalized and the current strains are much less harmful than the first (if vaccinated, if I recall). It’s possible that COVID could mimic similar symptoms to a cold and drastically influence debate performance. It would definitely explain the senility we witnessed.

Bottom line is that Biden is old as fuck, we know, but the dude bikes and exercises while constantly barraged by people shouting he’s “too old” and “should drop out.” I think I would bomb a debate with all that shit, too! Add COVID to the mix and I’d probably want to die rather than debate a serial-liar.

Count your blessings. Last time I had it (second time, vaxxed and boostered) it had me bedbound for nearly 3 weeks, 5 weeks until I could manage everyday life again normally. I never felt so sick in my life.

Wow, that’s crazy! I’m sorry that happened to you. Hopefully, after all that, you were spared from long COVID.

Biden had attended some event without a mask a few days earlier and possibly caught it then. He attended another such event after the debate to spread it to more people.

Mild or no symptoms during acute infection doesn’t seem to mean lower likelihood of “sequelae” i.e. long covid. And now he has Parkinson’s-like symptoms. Well gosh:

If that’s the cause, maybe his campaign can get a Herman Cain award.

HCAs are only for people who spread misinformation about COVID online and subsequently die from it.

Do accute infections give false negatives on home tests? Partner just got over it and I have no idea how I didn’t catch it.

I’m vaccinated and boosted, but so is she. And the first day or two of symptoms we didn’t realize it was COVID. So, I had a lot of exposure.

Any advice would be appreciated. Long COVID would suck!

The quotes make me think this is a sarcastic comment about Trump supporters rather than an attack on the president. But if I’m wrong, here’s the quote.

“The pandemic is over,” he said. “We still have a problem with COVID.”

Emphasis mine.

The pandemic is over, we lost the fight and now it’s endemic like influenza.

My comment was meant as a reference related to that quote by Biden, who also now claims to have ended the pandemic. This is a rather bold claim, considering how the WHO has said that the pandemic isn’t over, and one country can’t end a pandemic when it’s global by definition. Also, when looking at cumulative COVID deaths by administration, there has been now more under Biden than Trump.

Okay, in which case the flu pandemic is also not over. (According to the WHO article). And comparing deaths in less than a year (400k) with deaths over three and a half (700k) is a fun way to manipulate statistics

And, I’m going to watch the Harrisburg speech. Because I can’t find a transcript and I suspect the twitter quote is as bullshit as your COVID one (which is bullshit because if you use quotation marks, you need to quote somebody, not put words in their mouth and take it out of context). I’ll report back in an hour.

Edit: He did say he ended the pandemic. That is some serious hubris I admit. Not like Trump doesn’t have hubris in spades but you do you.
