Why not? The post is more likely to drive leftists away from the Democrats than towards them. Maybe these Russians have stopped posing leftists who are trying to convince other leftists not to vote Democrat and instead are posing as centrists in order to alienate leftists. There’s just as much evidence for that theory as there is for any of the other baseless accusations of Russian trolling I’ve seen here.

Mathematically, it’s still exactly one half as bad as bad to not vote than to vote for the Republican party, regardless of who you are. A vote Republican swings the count 2 points relative to voting Democrat. No vote, 1 point relative to voting Democrat.

In some places it can be seen as helping one candidate, in other places it can be seen as helping the other. The country isn’t the same everywhere. Some states lean different ways and so it all depends what your vote is countering.
