I just want to point out that the german word for turtle is Schildkröte which are the words Schild (shield) and Kröte (toad) smashed together.
In addition, the German language does not really differentiate between turtles and tortoises: both are called “shield toads”, but if you want to be more specific, you can say “water shield toads” or “land shield toads”, respectively.
What about sarcasm?
Cower mortals, you stand before your god!
All I’m missing is the shell 😢
When I was 7 years old in the 80s, my dad bought me a teenage mutant ninja turtles pajama set. It had a big pillow shell, and a face mask bandana you wore over your eyes, and elbow pads, and knee pads. All in the the color of whichever turtle you chose to buy.
My dad, being an idiot, bought Donatello. I’m CLEARLY a Rapheal! It’s as if boomer adults in the 80s didn’t watch and understand kids cartoons from the 80s! Hmmmph!
Oh, this has nothing to do with your thing. I was just distracting you long enough to steal your wallet.
HEY! LOOK OVER THERE! AN ELEPHANT!
runs off giggling
Hehehehehe, why would there be an elephant on a city street??? You fool!
It’s me. I’m the turtle.
