I met a grown adult the other week that told me she liked playing Fortnite
So what? I’m not a fan of Fortnite as well, but let people enjoy what they want.
Lemmy often assumes the worst about comments. I think people interpreted* your comment as “can you imagine this woman I know enjoys this kiddy game?!”. While you really meant, I think, “some adults like to play Fortnite, too, actually”.

I join my boomer squad nearly every night. I’m the youngest at age 43. We win 1 in every 4 games, so that’s not awful. Depending on the mood we w-key or we just have fun and giggles.
It is a very well made game with fun mechanics and plenty of content.
Right now I’m playing modded Minecraft while waiting for Terraria 1.4.5
If im feeling cheeky and one of my fellow nerd friends mentions a favorite character of theirs, i like to say “oh, that guy from Fortnite?”
Maybe I’m just old, but those all seem like kid games to me.

Roblox is significantly older than Minecraft (2006 vs. 2009/2011 depending on where you start counting) so the optimistic part of me thinks people won’t talk about Roblox like that.
