If you paid me to take one, I would.

Then I would set it on fire.

Sell it for parts. The EV motors are useful and the battery pack is still relevant. The rest can burn though.

Somebody needs to design a kit to hook a Tesla vehicle battery up to solar panels like their Powerwall does. I’m sure there are plenty of people with solar panels out there that would love to add/expand battery backup at a reasonable price.

I have about 30kwh worth of battery storage and I’ve been trying to figure out how to use a used EV battery to expand it.

I think I’d need the car’s computer to act as the charge controller but I’m not a hundred percent sure.

Nope, fire. It would be useful as firefighter practice.

You wouldn’t need to. It would do it all by itself ¯\(ツ)

Donate them to Ukraine. They can do better than fire

Well you must have more money than you need. Perhaps you’re one of these rich people we’re all excited to eat.

If someone gave any rational person a free car (or in fact paid them to take it), they’d take the car and either drive it, resell it or give it to someone else. These are basically the only non crazy options. There aren’t many people who look at $20,000 and say “nah… let’s burn it”.

I know it was hyperbole, but it was still a ridiculous statement. Unless it wasn’t hyperbole, but then that could only make it dishonest.

Worrying sign for one EV maker, people don’t want Tesla, they still want EV cars

“Tumbling” would be 40% IMO. Do I hear 50? Let’s make it a goal to put Tesla out of business by 2028.

Luckily, there are plenty of European EV alternatives

Plenty of American alternatives too. They are cheaper and better, with the added bonus of not being run by a nazi.

Well maybe they are, Ford has some history there too…

Worst case scenario I’m sure there are plenty of folks willing to convert old Toyotas.

I would love to convert my mk3 supra, but not sure even with removing as much as possible if I could make enough space for a decent amount of battery, hehe. But then again, I don’t really need much range. 100 km would be plenty. I already don’t really use the hatch, it just has a disconnected nos tank and a giant subwoofer enclosure from the previous owner, like 15 years ago. I don’t turn the music up louder than 7 out of 40, so I might not even need a sub, let alone two giant ones.

The Model S. The Model 3 and X fell but not by a terrible amount. Unfortunately deliverables seem to be on track to meet Q1 of 2024. But that is while other EVs have increased their volume which means their markets hare is falling quite a bit.
