After 100% what’s even the point? Margins on imported goods are already tight, after you price imports out of the market you’re just increasing the number in a meaningless way.

If you’re looking for logic in this administration’s trade policy, you’re gonna be pretty disappointed.

There’s a little logic in it. What he calls the artlessness of the deal, threatening the stick, dangling the carrot. Meanwhile tasty insider trading for the posse.

But whenever the other country doesn’t react as a schoolyard bully would expect, they flounder. <= this is where we are now

This so-called administration has one goal: install themselves forever and bleed the country dry, right into their own pockets. Two goals. In that, they act logically.

Agreed. It’s an ignorant show of strength for brainless Trump swallowers.

China’s already halted all industry- and defense-critical exports to the US, iirc. “Fuck you, I’m not selling at any price”% tariff beats 245%. But numbers are hard. Perhaps orangeboi will figure it out eventually.

What’s more, they didn’t just cut off the US. They cut off exports all together in strategic minerals.

Imagine you’re manufacturing an end product that contains 10% of parts that are under tariffs. Your end cost goes up by 10% of that tariff value, i.e. by 24,5% in this case.

No logic. Using this as distraction as rest of administration does atrocious things. Flood media with enough bullshit and the most egregious shit gets unnoticed.

No due process for deported migrants.

People getting picked up off the streets to never be seen again.

Orange man floating the idea of US citizens getting sent to foreign prison.

Oh, and the genocide going on with Israeli govt hardly getting any notice. Have to follow UN directly and parse through their reports.

We are only 3-4 months into this shit stains presidency/“leadership”.

I heard this today, they had ChatGPT calculate the numbers for each country? Wow.

edit: https://www.theverge.com/news/642620/trump-tariffs-formula-ai-chatgpt-gemini-claude-grok

From this article:

Now whether or not this specific incident is true, it certainly wouldn’t be the first of its kind. The new administration has taken to relying on AI chatbots to rewrite government documents en masse and call shots on which government programs recieve funding and which ones don’t. They’ve even taken to leveraging AI to determine which foreign students should be deported for their opinions.

Trump recently said he thinks more extreme tariffs will cause instant business relocation to the US.

If he’s negotiating with countries, then he doesn’t care if they build factories here, he just wants bribes.

Trump is the worst negotiator in the history of negotiations… no wonder he had so many bankruptcies, everything is irrational and emotional.

I still think they should increase the tariff to a billion percent and pay off the national debt in a couple days.
