Airyn
Mildred is a fucking great name. Airyn is a bit rougher, but in general I feel that us trans femmes have absolutely nothing on trans mascs who really do go wild with their names or end up as one of the 75% of trans guys called Ryland, or a variation thereof.
I think Mildred is too much like mildew to be a great idea buuut thatās my opinion so do what you want with it

Is Mildred old enough to make a come back yet? In my mind itās lumped in with names from about 70-100 years ago, along with Gladys, Ethel, and Phyllis. I guess Millie sounds ok, but Airyn sounds way better to me
Itās funny because Iāve seen almost the exact opposite; Trans femmes are choosing beautiful gorgeous names that fit them perfectly. Then trans mascs are just like āoh hey, Iām Steve.ā
To be fair, when someoneās a Steve, theyāre a Steve. Thereās just no faking it. Good on those trans-men for recognizing it.
I think its actually quite cute but I do suspect its going to get annoying when she is trying to tell a cashier her email.
I took that as tongue and cheek supportive. As in, the friend is totally cool with their friend coming out as trans, but cants get over the choice of name.
Is there a name for that type of swap humour? Where you set up a joke and the punchline plays off the less obvious point in the lead up?
itās a bit of a meme that trans people pick weird ass names. this one falls on the better side imo; usually itās a name youād only hear in a bingo game
