Without googling anything wasn’t he assassinated by Charles Gateau? Not sure about the spelling but it’s a pretty known event

Edit: I’m back after looking it up and the spelling is Guiteau

Yeah, we spent time learning about this in middle school. it was a question on a class test and one of the standardized tests either the state or the fed requires.
