What, are we in kindergarten now? Do we make fun of old people that Democrats need to help win this election? People care about policies.
Take a look at the official federal Republican platform and say that again with a straight face, I fucking dare you.
The average voter in this country is undereducated, underemployed and uninformed. Trump voters voted for him because they thought they were kicking the establishment in the nuts. And of course the saving the guns and the right to bare babies or some shit I’m sure.
No, they don’t understand the policies. And they don’t care to. They generally don’t even watch the debates or speeches. They’re comfortable not knowing. They just want to feel relevant and heard, and sadly the GOP misinformation & marketing has been fairly successful at convincing them Republicans are the ones who care about them over the last 30 years.
If you want your messaging to be that voters are idiots who have no clue what they want, then you might as well embrace a Trump win now.
No, that’s the tragedy. Americans are smart, kind, and compassionate people as a culture. Nearly everyone who travels here from Europe is surprised by this. But through lifelong indoctrination, careful defunding of education and social programs, a huge portion of the population are uneducated and hate specific groups of people they hardly know.
This isn’t the messaging, this is the truth.
The Democratic messaging, largely in response to these circumstances, is that we can do better with time and effort.
Republican voters keep voting against welfare, social security, and healthcare. They are the people more likely to need government assistance. Not all people care about policies.
A lot of Republican voters believe whatever their preacher tells them. Many of them are indoctrinated into a cult. Some of them see Democrats not practicing what they preach, and say… hey, if they’re not going to be honest might as well trust this other guy more. Some of them are malicious and believe they’ll get tax cuts and less regulation to profit.
Democrats though need to focus on a message of providing for the American people. Not all Republicans are lost causes. In the end, the role of a President isn’t to only take care of the people that voted for you. The more you can rally around talking about how Kamala or whoever is nominated and what they plan and will do for America, to help with inflation, house prices, regulation, jobs & opportunities, etc, the more you’ll get people interested.
If you just want to talk about how stupid you think Republicans are, then your message isn’t going to be very strong.
This has nothing to do with insulting stupid Republicans and more to do with showing logic to the logical. If they think Biden is too old to run 4 years ago, then Trump is too old to run now.
The vast majority of people do not even know what the policies of each party are, little less have opinions on which are better.
Its about the message you send to your voters… do you treat them with any ounce of respect about their ability to make smart informed decisions, or do you treat them like they are idiots?
For the past three months, the Republicans and every disinformation campaign has pointed to Biden’s (non-age-related) speaking stutters and 2-year age difference and said “old bad”.
This is not immaturity. This is bipartisanship. We’re just mockingly saying “Yes.”
Who cares if they make disingenuous claims? That is their platform so let them suffer the consequences of being hypocrites. If they want to run and old narcissistic man, then let them. You should be glad they’re running Trump. The more you talk and complain about Trump, it only makes Democrats look weak. Talk about something positive now, like how as a Democrat you want to commit to a platform based on core values. It is time to move on from the doom and gloom messaging.
If you don’t care about them, don’t police our positive thoughts.
Laughing at hypocritical bastards and the morons who support them is our positivity. It’s not “doom and gloom”.
