GiveSendGo stands firmly behind its decision to host content related to Mangione.
“We believe every person is entitled to due process in a court of law — not in the court of public opinion,” Alex Shipley, GiveSendGo’s communications director, said in a statement. “To be absolutely clear, we do not support or condone vigilante justice. However, people have a constitutional right to a strong legal defense, and access to that defense should not be reserved only for the wealthy or those who fit a particular narrative. Our role is to give individuals and their communities the opportunity to fundraise for that defense, because true justice is served when everyone has equal access to a fair trial — regardless of the verdict.”
His family is actually very rich but I’d still donate as a statement (if it wasn’t on GiveSendGo)
If I was Aaron Schwartz’d, I’m certain my family would read the headlines on Fox News and be immediately convinced that I am somehow a bad person and deserve to be in prison as punishment
Just because your parents have lots of money, doesn’t mean it will go to your defense fund.
100 million from his grandmother, but devided between multiple family members

I’ve been waiting for which kind of angle they will take to attack Luigi’s character to get people to change their mind about him.
It appears that they are going with the “but he was rich” strategy in hopes that would somehow turn people against him. Comment sections will probably be flooded with this shit.
Yeah. Hell, even if he IS extremely rich and privileged, that just makes him the GOOD kind of class traitor: the kind with enough privilege to not HAVE to care, but also enough empathy and desire for justice to care anyway.
It’s unclear so far, how much he specifically has.
His family however, is quite wealthy.
