Summary

The North Carolina House passed a controversial bill allocating $227 million for Hurricane Helene relief while including provisions to reduce powers of the incoming Democratic governor and attorney general.

Critics, including Democrats, called it a “power grab,” citing changes like stripping the governor’s control over the State Board of Elections and limiting the attorney general’s ability to challenge state laws or advocate for utility customers.

Republicans defended the bill as necessary, but some GOP lawmakers opposed it.

The bill now heads to the Senate and may face a gubernatorial veto.

Rule 1 of the liberal rules of engagement: if someone disagrees with you or isn’t a consummate eater of democratic ass, personally attack them

I attack defeatist attitudes, for sure.

There is one party that has tangibles that is open to positive change and the structure to implement that change. To toss out the baby with he bathwater is ridiculous. The party isnt useless. It’s influence-able and malleable. So yes, I will discard attitudes of defeat.

When have democrats ever been open to change? And when have their voters ever demanded change? You’re all going to sit by and let Trump and the GOP do whatever the fuck they want, because to oppose them in any way would be rude and disrespectful. Democrats are worse than useless, bc their goal is to be slightly left of republicans at all times, making them a right wing party with absolutely no interest in ever moving left unless republicans somehow also went left. If you still think they’re going to resist fascism in any remotely meaningful way, I’ve got a bogo deal on some bridges for you

Whoa, i was with you up until one of your sentances.

Dont disparage the voters, weve been demanding change from the dems for years. Its the party leaders that are at fault. The DNC will not allow a decent person to run as our candidate, which is why the DNC needs to be removed. Personally, I think the leaders of the dnc should be at least kicked out of the country, maybe out of life. You dont get to be just as bad as the republicans and still get to enjoy being taken seriously.

I think we better get used to this shit. This is the pivot now they they got Trump elected: to sow discord among the left so that any possible opposition is neutered before it even has a chance.

And so many useful idiots on the left will eat it up because of that one Lenin book they read in college said so.

This is how Republicans keep power forever.
