So much hate because she is pro-Trump now.

Sheesh, didnt realize Lemmy is just as TDS as reddit. Yall are so “ORANGE MAN BAD” that you’ll randomly shit on others you dont understand. What a disgusting comments section. Here I thought Lemmy was more intelligent than reddit, meanwhile yall are just as alarmist and reactionary.

If you’re a conservative, in my eyes you’re an anchor to progress. I don’t care if it’s Trump or whomever.

If all the places are “orange man bad”… maybe there is a reason. 🤔

People get their opinons and info from memes.

It isnt even rare to see people who think trump will cause genocide or evict all citizen mexican-americans… that’s nonsensical, and common. It is no wonder that Orange Man Bad is so common when people are told he is bad 24/7 without proper proof or context.

Almost like people don’t want a fascist to be in office huh weird, strange. Absolutely unable to tell why that could be.

No sane person calls someone they disagree with a fascist. That is TDS. I bet you think if Trump wins, gay people will be put in camps and whatnot. All that other alarmist nonsense about project2025 which didnt happen in his prior term. All this saving grace our VP says she will do if elected… that she could just begin right now lol…

You run into one asshole, you’ve just run into an asshole. If you run into assholes everywhere you go, you’re the asshole.

Also, what’s TDS?

TDS is Trump Derangement Syndrome. It’s two-pronged. The MAGASUPPORTERS HURR, they have TDS. The people who genuinely seem to think Trump will commit genocide, they also have TDS.

I hear it often only used towards the left, but no - the supporters can be just as bad. Those people who think Trump is some god who will save us from pedophile elite, that’s also TDS.

Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Basically if you’re against Trump, you must be completely obsessed with him and therefore deranged. Sane people don’t oppose him. Or something like that

Even if you are pro trump, politicians doing a 180 on their views should alarm you. It’s nice to be able to support a candidate with some assurance that they are what they say they are.

I dont really see this as a 180 on their views though. Gabbard was a very moderate democrat, and while trump appeals to conservatives - he is in many ways a very progressive republican (his views on crypto, and weed, are extremely anti-republican…)

She claimed to be super progressive left in 2016 and 2020 during the presidential elections. She then endorsed Biden then trashed Biden and endorsed Trump. She clearly just wants a cabinet position with someone.

I haven’t been paying enough attention to know if this is a 180 or just a continuance of what they were already doing but you should want politicians whose beliefs can change based on new information

I find it odd that she is using her military pedigree as justification for this because of how anti-American military personnel Trump is but she could have been preaching his policies for awhile now

She fully supported Bernie Sanders in 2016. She ran as a progressive in 2020 against Bernie with almost identical policies, and then suddenly endorsed Biden when she realized Bernie wasn’t going to win. She then started going on Fox etc. and trashing Biden, and now is endorsing Trump. She has run the entire political spectrum according to who she thinks is likely to win and give her a cabinet position without regard to policy. Also she is part of a Hawaiian cult that wants to take over the world.

Lemmy is a decentralized social community. Maybe Lemmy.world is progressive (and by progressive I mean: censoring communities already lol), but to say the entire mastodon which this relies on is, is foolish.

If this was 2018 I’d probably agree with you, but it’s 2024 now and we have an encyclopedias worth of evidence of why Trump is a dangerous human being. If you eat fox News propaganda I can forgive it to some extent. But Tulsi should know better and deserves to be shit on because there very likely is an ulterior motive here that she’s not being honest about.

Could you point me to these encyclopedias? because last I checked the man hasnt been doing half the shit people accuse him of - and he is notoriously taken out of context.

Again, if this was 2018 I’d probably agree with you. But here is a taste since you asked:

Other grand juries, such as for the documents at Bedminster, or the Arizona fake electors, have not been announced.

The E. Jean Carroll trial for sexual assault and defamation where Trump was found liable and ordered to pay $5 million before immediately defaming her again resulting in a demand for $10 million is not listed as it’s a civil case and not a crimimal one. He was found liable in that case for $83.3 million.

There had been multiple cases in multiple states to remove Trump from the ballot, citing ineligibility under the 14th amendment.

The Supreme Court ruled on March 4th that states do not have the ability to determine eligibility in Federal elections.
