Donald Trump fired off an angry middle-of-the-night attack on “highly overrated Jewish Governor” Josh Shapiro after he spoke out against the former president at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night.

At this point there is no chance of “court(ing)” enough voters to win. MAYBE when all anyone knew of Biden was a guy who chugged a bottle of nyquil before a debate for some reason but even america isn’t stupid enough to legitimately vote in trump anymore.

If trump wins it will be because of decades of gerrymandering and outright election theft through court cases, bad faith electors, and violence.

And shit like this? This is the threat. Explain that anyone who breaks ranks is going to be just as much of a target as pence was.

Hell, I wouldn’t be shocked if we have a “Jan 6 was a day of patriotism” ad before this 70-something days is up.

I’m afraid you’re vastly underestimating the stupidity of Americans. I just hope enough people vote.

They’re stupid enough when it comes to not voting at all. If everyone showed up and voted for who they prefer, no Republican would ever be president again (unless they pivot away from being the Fascist Party).

And yet, “did not vote” would have won something like 80% of the last 100 years of elections.

Agreed. PT Barnum was a very wealthy man.

My parents seem like normal somewhat rational people. They are still planning to vote for Trump. Please stop with this “we’ve already won” shit. It can only cost us the win. Go vote. It’s far from guaranteed. It honestly looks to be pretty close to an even race right now.

Please stop with this “we’ve already won” shit.

That’s not at all the right takeaway from his comment. The right takeaway from his comment is that Trump has every intention of winning by massively cheating, and his supporters are already inserting themselves into positions within the election system to do just that.

  1. Your parents are not “somewhat rational people” if they are voting for a hateful bigot and rapist who is openly compromised by foreign powers and openly talking about how people only have to vote “one more time”
  2. Please read posts before responding to them
  3. We have popular republicans speaking at the DNC and getting cheered. There was a LOT of stupidity about Biden (“He is anti-Palestine so we should let trump win instead!”) but he is gone and there is no time to make a proper attack against Kamala. trump is not going to sway additional voters and is already losing “moderates” who are desperate for anything other than a rapist lunatic who would love Gilead if he knew how to read.

That is why the focus is on strong arming his party and elected officials to remind them that he led a literal fucking lynch mob against the last republican who crossed him by… not shitting on the constitution on Jan 6.

if trump wins it is not going to be by a popular vote (it was never going to be that). It is not even going to be by barely squeaking by on the electoral college. It is going to be by getting close and then using outright theft and violence to get the rest of the way.

Which is why, even if someone is too stupid to understand that there are down ballot candidates who matter just as much (arguably moreso), they still need to vote. Because we need a landslide so that there are no elected (or military…) officials who decide that they want to be on “the winning team” and defy the will of the people. And that is who trump is campaigning to at this point.

Almost half the country will vote for the orange ape. Don’t other this guy’s parents. If everyone voted the country wouldn’t be in this situation anyway. Take 40% out of the voting pool (not even counting voter suppression) and the ill-informed will vote alongside the hyper-informed.

That’s a rational view, but not born out by past experience. Sadly, there are apparently a huge number of horrible Americans who still think Trump is exactly right.

Hillary got flak for calling Trump supporters a “basket of deplorables,” but in hindsight that was a kind way of saying it.
