I see them as IMU trackers that can get location when in view of the headset. That means with 2 on you legs and 2 controllers in your hands, your arm and leg positions are (somewhat) tracked. I think just how the quest controllers can go a few seconds without be seen by the headset without any major tracking innaccuracies, these trackers will do the same thing.

I have also considered building a battery power car horn for my bike to honk at cars. Not practical, but conceptually funny.

  1. Most of the website area is dedicated to photos of a finished product, like you would expect from an ecommerce site.
  2. Most of the text just sells the product, instead of explaining reasoning like how this is safer.
  3. The camera on the light has nothing to do with visibility.

Meta makes their money through advertisements and the commission they take on store sales. They have no incentive to make a good PCVR headset.

This actually seems pretty practical given it uses the same system the controllers are using. It might not be tracked all the time, but should be if you look down or are lying down. Also, it sounds like they will use software to estimate position when .

This appears to be an advert dissed as an article. Also, I know my bike lights already emit light in all directions by making the shell transparent.

With something like the Apple Vision that can create a mesh of your surroundings as you travel, you might be able to roughly survey the land and trees by walking around. The software to do just that part would be crazy hard though.

You might be interested in project North Star. It looks interesting based on what I read in the documentation.

Would be funny if an entire country made all it’s border crossings with 2m wide bamboo bridges above a moat. Car too wide or heavy? In the moat it goes. Sploosh!
