What are you referencing specifically? I work in payments and I’ve never heard of this IBM code. The card networks just use an ISO format and every front end is different (the two we have are completely different in very fundamental ways though they are definitely both old as fuck).
I assure you they won’t. It’s not going to be that expensive to only show an option if you’re in California. Companies already do this with other things like privacy related stuff.
If the company is already a scumbag company that makes it impossible to cancel, this will only stop them where they have to follow a law.
Kind of the old Windows vs Mac problem though. It gets so many exploits because it is so ridiculously popular. No one is going to bother looking for exploits in shit that no one uses right? I’m sure they’ve got problems like any project but I’m not convinced they’re THAT bad. Not to mention a lot of exploits you see are plugins doing dumb shit, not WP itself.
Thank you. I’ve been thinking the same thing. People keep posting things that aren’t remotely close to Nova. I’m beginning to think there’s just nothing else at their level. Lawnchair seems like the closest so far but it’s still not customizable enough and the Google feed implementation randomly broke and I couldn’t get it to work again (amongst other annoyances and performance issues).
I dunno maybe they should be subject to more stringent rules like people at banks and such? If you can just trade your stocks right before you pass a law, what’s the point of the new rule? That’s part of why they’re under fire in the first place isn’t it? They have insider information. Saying you can’t trade after the fact seems like it’s too late to me. Maybe I didn’t explain that well idk.
