Women are too emotional to be president? Shit man, maga and their current figurehead are fueled by extremely volatile emotion, no matter how much they crow about facts vs feelings. Rage is an emotion, and it’s what’s driven the movement for years before it even had a name. Citing emotionality as a reason not to elect a woman is just an excuse—a very poor one, at that—and everyone knows it.

He saw how upset people are by the prospect so he backpedaled like, well, someone who’s in infinitely better shape than he is. The benefit of the doubt that anyone can give—which, let’s be real here, he absolutely does not deserve—is that Trump himself isn’t going to do a goddamn thing apart from shuffle across a golf course on the daily and scribble on the occasional executive order; but you should know that the ghouls in his inner circle are the ones who do all the wetwork for him anyway. Yeah, same, I’ve been largely numb and cold, more angry than scared or wanting to cry, but it wouldn’t be immediately apparent when you talk to me in person (not that I let anyone get close enough to do that these days). Part of it is that we’ve been through it before—last time, he was still an unknown quantity, a question mark. However, we have more than an inkling as to what sort of inhuman shit to expect this time around, so we best spend some time getting prepared.
