Finally a systemd praise post after so many hateful remarks. I knew systemd could do dns resolving but just learned it could handle the entire network stack and replace NetworkManager. I have a question: How can services such as Apache adapt to both NM and systemd at the same time? NM and systemd have different wait-online services. You can also add systemd-analyze for boot time analysis to the list.
Never use sudo for graphical apps. If you need admin permissions use pkexec instead.
ie. pkexec gparted
Some GUI apps need admin permissions and will not work without them. Gparted is an example. pkexec (polkit exec) is the right way to start these apps, read this for more info https://askubuntu.com/questions/270006/why-should-users-never-use-normal-sudo-to-start-graphical-applications
Mobile FF is already awesome with UBlock Origin and YT background playback extensions. I wish to install an auto redirect extension. (Twitter to Nitter) I know it is doable on beta w/ extensions etc. but I want to see them on normal Firefox.
On Windows there is an odd way of throttling which only sometimes triggers and lowers CPU frequency to 1380 MHz. It is bypassable via custom power plan. As I said, it only sometimes triggers. On Linux iGPU is never throttled and CPU is throttled around 97 C to speeds slightly below max MHz. Shutting down is, under normal circumstances, for situations where throttling fails. I have another laptop which successfully throttles and keeps temps below 90C.
