I’m hoping to start a Friendica instance, it’s been around for a long time and actually has events, which is something NO other social network has managed to add and one of the main reasons people I know who don’t like Facebook will feel compelled to use it, there’s no other easy way to create and invite people to events.
I also tried to get people to try G+, before that Diaspora, and neither got many people interested: but I think Fedi has now proved its not going away. There needs to be sustained local push to relocalise communities, this is happening in a few places, and enough nontechy people are starting to really understand the danger of FB and the silo mentality.

All I can say is I hope this gives the RWNJs pause about voting for the potato, if they think stocks will go down even further unless we distance ourselves from the US, then we might not be doomed to 3 years of similar stupidity.

It is confusing. As noted by previous comment, voting below the line ensures that your absolute preferences are counted.
Where a flowchart would be helpful is with GVTs (that have been abolished almost everywhere see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_voting_ticket) but unfortunately with the lack of knowing for sure in advance the levels of support for each candidate, especially minor & Indies, there’s no real way of knowing for sure who will end up winning from preferences exactly. Best you can do is read up on all the candidates, put #LibLab last (but honestly possibly openly Nazi Nazis dead last, then Libs, then Lab) and everyone else in order of how much you agree with their policy platform.
And talk to people about it. Point out that both major parties only benefit billionaires, in the end.
