Hey, he’s like, just this guy, you know?

Direct message

Barks is a freaking legend, more people should be reading that. At the end of his life, he was just down the road apiece from me:

And, yeah, Black Cloak has been a good read… TBH I’m a little thrown by the art, every time a new issue comes out I’m like “I don’t remember the art being this bad before…” then I go look and, yeah, it’s consistently in the same style.

Good read though!

Kind of sad if you think about it… After my heart attack and open heart surgery, I had considered setting up a bot to randomly send an /r/aww or /r/funny link to my wife every day after I die. Glad I didn’t now. :(

I think what threw me was I picked it up based on the strength of this variant cover:

And really none of it has hit that realistic tone. That cover reminded me a bunch of the old Frank Ciracco stuff.

I’m a little too reliant on Android Auto and there really is no alternative other than Apple Car Play which is even more restrictive.

Feb. 2008 my spine tried to kill me. Lower lumbar spinal stenosis.

Did a bunch of stuff, winded up on vicodin. At my peak, just to function as a normal human being, I was taking 10 a day.

2 when I woke up.
2 when I got to work.
2 at lunchtime.
2 when I got home.
2 to be able to sleep.

For a year, it felt like my head was stuffed with cotton.

I got tired of not being able to think so I stopped the vicodin, managing the pain with stretching, breathing exercises, and meditation.

The pain never left, but I could “distance” it, like shouting from the house across the street.

I would not wish stenosis pain on my worst enemy.

At the time the doc said they could do a laminectomy, which is removing some of the spine material to prevent the spinal cord from being crushed. But it’s expensive, would require I be off work for 6 weeks, and wouldn’t be super effective.

So I told him “Ok, pretend we did that, because pretending doesn’t cost anything, not super effective, still in pain, now what?”

“Well, we can do cortizone shots into your spine…”

“Gee, that sounds pleasant, but I’ve heard you can only have so many of those and you’re done, you can’t have anymore. I’ve got, maybe, what another 40 years? Let’s not burn all the cortizone shots now… What’s next?”

13, because it’s just as wrong, but it’s the closest to 10. ;)

Also, national polls mean nothing. We don’t have a national election.

Trump lost in 2016 by 2.1%, he became President by winning in WI, MI and PA. 2 states Clinton failed to campaign in and a 3rd she alienated.

The total number of votes that elected Trump were just 22,748 in WI, 10,704 in MI and 44,292 in PA.

77,744 people made Trump a President. The rest of us knew better.

Also true, but it wouldn’t have happened if Clinton had actually campaigned in states she took for granted and didn’t say stupid shit about coal.
