Nicht wirklich. Aber ich denke dass ich wohl ab und an nicht drum rumkommen werde Reddit zu benutzen. Reddit ist über die Jahre zu einem gewaltigen Archiv von Informationen und Tipps geworden. Jedes erdenkliche technische Problem…99% dass es auf Reddit dazu einen Post gibt.
Aber wenn es darum geht, selber zu posten und zu kommentieren, werde ich mich vermutlich auf Lemmy beschränken.

This is why I believe that it’s important to establish that people mention communities with their full name. For example when you talk about this sub here you use asklemmy@lemmy.ml and not just asklemmy or c/asklemmy or some variation.
I mean we are basically agreeing here. I just don’t think that this issue can be solved by lemmy itself. I believe we need to have the ability to create communities indepentendly on other instances. Otherwise the idea of lemmy would be pointless. This is an issue yes. But it’s an issue that can only be solved by the users. I have a (pretty much empty) Valorant community on here. I would be willing to close that community and have a pinned post telling people to go to a more active community. Maybe there could be a technical implementation to automate that forwarding or something idk.
It obviously only bothers me for single player games. Sometimes my internet is down when I wanna play. There is no good reason for why I have to be online to play a single player game. Sometimes my internet is fine but the game servers are down. Or overloaded. Or the publisher just took them down permanently or whatever.
I tried playing the beta for diablo 4 and the game had network lag. I know diablo 4 is technically a multiplayer game. But I always played diablo alone and I’m not interested in the multiplayer aspect. Sometimes I would get kicked from the server for whatever reason. That sucked. made me not buy the game.
I generally like Mint and I don’t really wanna switch distro unless it would give me any significant benefits. Like what’s the deal with PopOS? What does it have over other distros that makes it a good gaming distro?
I can easily install proprietary drivers on most distros these days. Steam is available in the repos of any debian/ubuntu distro that i can think of. There’s gotta be something that I’m missing?

du hast da ein kleines Missverständnis wie die Föderation funktioniert. Communities können unabhängig auf unterschiedlichen instanzen existieren. Eine Community setzt sich immer aus dem COmmunity-Namen und dem insanz-namen zusammen. Spich diese community ist fragfeddit@feddit.de
Du kannst allerdings externe Communities über diese Instanz hier aufrufen, sie abonnieren und dort beiträge verfassen oder kommentare.
Um eine externe Community zu abonnieren, die auf einer Instanz läuft, die hier noch nicht federated ist, kannst du einfach die volle URL über die Suche eingeben. Diese wird dann indexiert. (Außer wenn die instanz blockiert ist logischerweise.)
Möglich. ich hab den brave browser auf dem handy nie getestet.
Ich finde es gibt unterm Strich keinen guten Grund, Brave zu nutzen. Brave hat in der Vergangenheit bewiesen, dass sie nicht unbedingt vertrauenswürdig sind. Es ist am Ende auch einfach nur ein neu verpacktes google chrome. Die generella Geschäftspraktik ist zumindest fragwürdig. Die Leitung hat einige sehr fragwürdige Positionen.
Und zum Schluss bietet der Browser noch nicht mal irgendwelche besonderen Features. Die Werbeblock und Privacy features sind nichts besonderes. Man kann das gleiche mit ublock origin machen.
