I don’t agree with this article unless they’re solely talking about living in a disaster-prone area like Florida. There’s going to be risks with homeownership just like there’s going to be risks with owning anything, especially thanks to climate change and increasing natural disasters.

Honestly, this article leans more on the side of the mentality of landlords, since it essentially is saying ‘the world is risky, let landlords shoulder this burden’ and doesn’t even acknowledge that you gain no future equity from renting. You can walk away from a rental with nothing but at least you can sell a house and regain some, if not all, of its value.

Leasing businesses and local landlords have bought up so many houses that people would’ve normally been able to afford and now want you to rent them instead of buy them. We don’t need more reasons for renting to be the only option some have.

And their sycophants who will carry their lies to the next generation. It’s not just those that are directly responsible but also the willfully ignorant that are complicit.

Occidental says the captured carbon will be stored in rock deep underground, but its website also refers to the company’s use of captured carbon in a process called “enhanced oil recovery.”

Oh yes, let’s just hedge our bets and use projects with the guise of being a climate solution to actually help oil companies scrape the bottom of the barrel. What the hell.

I think Frog and silence are right. The amount of time, effort, and money that is required to set up nuclear plants at this point in time has far passed the equivalent in solar or wind projects. Add the fact that the sooner any project is finished, the less CO2 and CH4 is potentially released from nearby coal and gas plants; and since we’re already in passing up goals for global warming, the earlier the better.

While it’s good to have promising development on new energy storage systems, this one has a lot of misinformation circulating about it. It’s really only useful as a grid storage medium due to the low density and discharge rate.
