If you look for stores with good reviews and good sales numbers you’re 90% sure you’ll get what you paid for. There are some other sellers for these types of devices like LITNXT, and you can even find them on Amazon (usually more expensive).
If you want anything like PS2 or gamecube prepare to pay $150+ for a device, and most likely it will be an android based device like the retroid pocket devices
Most of these ambernic/Miyoo/powkiddy/Trimui Linux devices are aimed to play up to PSP, and some PSP games will run poorly, they’re using older cheaper chips, so they’re honestly weak devices.
IMO, best case is buying one of these devices for psp and below, and a steam deck or other handheld PC for PSP onwards… And PC gaming obviously.
I have an ROG Ally, and PS2, gamecube and WiiU runs great, but it feels like overkill for GBA and PS1 for example, so, for older emulation I just use this $60 device
Confort and battery life.
I love my ROG Ally, it’s amazing for a bunch of games, but I honestly don’t find it comfortable to play GBA or PS1 games for example, and the battery life is like 4 hours tops.
I recently got a Trimui Smart Pro and been playing GBA games on and off in between work meetings or when I go out. It fits on my pocket alongside my phone and the battery lasts like 6 hours depending on the system.
Different uses cases, and for $50 it’s honestly not a hard sell
I think the bases of all religions are similar enough… Don’t be an asshole, don’t be selfish and help others in need, accept everyone, etc…
Problem is the people that actually follow religions (specially when it’s a big part of their life) are mostly assholes that don’t follow the basic dogmas they themselves preach.
Yes you can, just play other stuff… Just this year I’ve played and completed 10 games, including new games like FF7 Rebirth, and guess what? You can have fun with non RT lighting.
Like I said, PT is amazing, but if you need a $2000 GPU to experience it (and still have to rely on upscaling and FG to have a playable experience), maybe it’s just isn’t ready, it’s still a tech demo.
Hell Indiana Jones non PT Ray Tracing still looks great and can be ran on reasonable hardware, a 3060 can do 60fps average on native 1080p at high settings, that’s reasonable. A 5090 can do 40fps at 4K using PT, no DLSS…
sure sure DLSS and all that… The native performance is still what dictates the end result… I’m not paying $2K to get 40fps… RT is great on paper for devs, but CLEARLY devs are still having issues with it and the hardware isn’t there yet.

Like, sure people some artists will feel like their actual talent is being infringed, and in cases of those idiots calling themselves “AI Artists”, I agree.
But also, I got an already existing picture of me and my fiancé in a different art style and we both looked cute, also did the picture of my cat. If I wanted a personalized quality cartoon of ourselves it would’ve cost me at least $150, so for a fun, already existing pic of ourselves I’m ok with it,specially if it’s to keep to myself or maybe posting in a “hey check this out lol” way, I’m not saying I’m an artist or claiming is original content.
If I wanted a REALLY special picture made to my specifications by an actual artist, of course it would be worth it since I’d ask them to do a “custom” scene and such (that’s the creativity part IMO), but just “translating” an already existing picture, I think is ok as long as you don’t claim you’re the artist or try and get credit for it either.
Sounds like someone who hasn’t used AMD in a while… VR works fine since a couple of years already , and RT sure, is a bit behind (specially on Nvidia showcases… Shocker those run better on Nvidia), but RDNA4 has been a significant upgrade… And even then RT is still a Gimmick showcase that only looks amazing using real PT that not even the $2000+ card can run properly.
Knowing then, they’d somehow force an ink subscription on the device.
