It certainly didn’t take long to spot servers like that on fedidb! I wonder what is causing people to make those? Load testing? Spam farm? Social experiment to see if people will sign up to an empty instance? Trying to setup an automated simulated social network like people joked reddit was where everyone is a bot except for you?
I think the most realistic answer is that they’re test instances either by a tech company that believes they have a path to monetize a fediverse project or by some kind of spam farm, but the lack of any posts is still positively weird

I married a farm girl and live in a small town surrounded by farming communities. This is unfortunately very true. Harvest time comes you need all of the help you can get to harvest everything before the weather destroys it. There’s no easy answer to this problem as most people generally don’t want to work on farms given the work conditions, and most small family farms can’t afford to pay for the labor they need (and its gigantic corporate farms where the real abuse happens because there’s no incentive to maintain the land or animals) Pretty much the only people willing to work on farms are the people who grew up on farms and people who can’t work anywhere else (such as migrant laborers from poorer countries)

Yup, its an old Civil War era law for folks who tried to avoid dying in the Civil War by moving to Canada. Reasoning was, if you wanted to draft dodge you could support the war financially instead. Then during the early 2000s as folks who graduated college at the wrong time and ended up more college debt than they can ever pay off started moving abroad to escape it, they increased the fee and took other steps to make renouncing more difficult since expats were renouncing their citizenship to stop owing taxes in the US
Dude these things struggle to fit in American cities! My mother in law was taking my wife and I to a concert in Chicago and last second we had to change plans and drive our car because hers was too big to park in our reserved parking space. My small crossover which is tiny by rural farming community standards was a tight squeeze. Her truck also took up literally half of our 3.5 car wide driveway (my house is a former rental)
