I’m all for defederating Hexbear, but lemmy.ml is absolutely huge compared to Hexbear. To motivate the community to do that you’d need quite a bit of proof. Or at least something rather compelling. Do you have any proof of what you’re referring to?

I think so. I mean, it depend what phone or more specifically what launcher you use.

To add to this, you can use exclamation point “!” To link people to communities in a way that won’t take them away from their home instance. Likewise you can use @ for users.

Example: !eli5@lemmy.blahaj.zone Or: @Soullioness@lemmy.world

It even auto fills when you type
