Eh, it sounds more busy than I actually am. There are weeks, sometimes months where I don’t read anything at all.

About One Piece: Yeah, I can see the sheer mass being super intimidating. But this series has probably the best world building of everything I’ve ever read, seen, or played. It manages to give characters that at first appear to be just comedic relief side characters tragic backstories that make you care about them. My recommendation to anyone who is even slightly interested in One Piece is to try and ignore the number of chapters/episodes and just start reading or watching it. It you like it it’s a great adventure story, and if not you can drop it anytime.

I’ve a bunch of series that I’m reading on and off.

In One Piece I’m at chapter 1070-ish. I caught up last summer and will probably do the same this summer.

In Berserk, I’m at volume 18. I love it but it’s such a shame that Miura couldn’t finish it.

In Gunnm (Alita), I’m at volume 6. Really cool manga, and the world reminds me of Midgar from Final Fantasy 7.

In Please don’t tease me Nagatoro I’m at volume 15. A lighthearted romantic comedy series.

I also just started reading Love Hina, also romantic comedy. I read the first two volumes or so like 10-15 years ago but never finished it despite liking it.

I’m also reading YuYu Hakusho, a shounen battle manga where the protagonist fights demons. It sounds generic but the YouTube channel SuperEyepatchWolf mentioned the anime in a video some time ago and was full of praise.

Very glad to have already found an alternative in case Reddit goes down.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that had this happen. The content of the front page in general (at least on mobile) is still a bit confusing to me. There are some posts that are a few hours old and others that are already a few days old. Other than that I also really like it. I’ve been more active on here in the last couple of days than I’ve been on Reddit in the past three years.

This hasn’t happend yet, but I’m paranoid I will one day day say 触ってもいいですか when I mean to say 座ってもいいですか.

Gibt es irgendwo einen (im besten Fall idiotensicheren) Guide, der einen durch das Upgrade führt? Ich habe gelesen, dass man nach einem Upgrade sämtliche Programme wieder neu installieren oder einrichten muss, stimmt das? Hier in einer englischsprachigen Community gabs mal einen Kommentar von jemandem, der eine richtige Routine entwickelt hat, mit der er den Verlust von Programmen und Einstellungen minimiert.

Löschen werde ich meinen Reddit-Account wohl nicht (auch wenn das jetzt kein großer Informationsverlust wäre), allerdings werde ich dort wahrscheinlich nichts mehr posten oder kommentieren.

Gefühlt 95% meiner Zeit auf Reddit hab ich auf dem Smartphone mit Relay verbracht. Ich schränke mich jetzt schon sehr ein, was das besuchen der Seite angeht und spätestens ab Juli hat sich dieser Aspekt ja eh komplett erledigt.

Auf dem PC werde ich die Seite auch sehr viel weniger besuchen, wenn ich über eine Google-Suche dorthin geleitet werde, zum Beispiel. Da hab ich Kommentare gelesen von Leuten, die sogar dann Reddit meiden. So extrem bin ich dann doch nicht drauf.

Ich muss auch sagen, dass mir das langsame Wachstum von Lemmy und kbin gefällt. Auf Reddit haben populäre Posts manchmal tausende von Kommentaren. Warum sollte ich da dann meine Gedanken noch dazu schreiben? Die gehen ja völlig unter in der Menge. Hier haben die populärsten Posts höchstens mal eine dreistellige Anzahl von Kommentaren; und auch das nur selten. Das ist viel motivierender, selbst einen Kommentar zu schreiben.

Unangenehm finde ich die Abspaltung von beehaw. Wenn das häufiger passiert, insbesondere von größeren Instanzen, wäre das das Todesurteil für das ganze Projekt.

Würdest du Fedora auch jemandem empfehlen, der gar keine Erfahrungen mit Linux hat? Ich habe vor, mir in den kommenden Monaten einen neuen PC zusammenzubauen und Linux mal auszuprobieren, und Windows 11 höchstens als Dual Boot Option einzurichten (oder am besten ganz davon wegzukommen). Nach einigem Rumgelese hatte ich mich eigentlich für Linux Mint entschieden, da die eine der ein- und umsteigerfreundlichsten zu sein scheint. Aber die Anzahl der Fedora-Empfehlungen hier sind ja schon beachtlich.
