But my Maga coworker just told me she wants to make everything more expensive! Now I don’t know who to believe; you both sound equally sensible. /s

I always turned them off, unless I was just going to eat dinner and couldn’t save. The lasers for old systems like the PS2 and Sega Saturn have a longevity, and will wear out over time. I’d rather not speed that up since I plan on keeping them around. I was also scolded for wasting electricity growing up, so that is burned into my habits as well.

SE Michigan isn’t nearly as bad as Northern Michigan as far as snow goes. A few inches usually doesn’t need shoveling, but a lot of people will do it to keep their driveways clear. Tire-tracks in snow will freeze into ice, making it harder to shovel later.

Growing up, we would almost never get snow-days off from school, even during a deep freeze + blizzard. Don’t expect things to shut down, and your boss will probably expect you to show up for work. Roads will get plowed and salted, but the first heavy snow causes driving problems until they clear it up. The last few years weren’t very bad for SE Michigan. Last winter, there were probably only a couple of mornings where I avoided the highway due to weather and the traffic problems it caused.

So then… these factory farms are the ones creating the “weapons of mass destruction,” and the activists are the ones trying to stop them…?

Can someone explain to me, in simple terms, how animal rights activism is connected to weapons of mass destruction?

Not to defent the corporate dystopia, but usually to qualify for whatever kind of insurance these companies have, they are required by the insurance company to drug test. At least, that’s how it is at the company I work for. If they don’t drug test, the company is held liable for anything the employee does, and insurance won’t cover it.

She wants to fill your farmland with trees! Useless trees! No more taters or pipe weed! Good luck digging a new burrow with all those roots. Speaking of roots, did you hear about the Ents? All they do is destroy our towns, ripping our dams apart so they can drink all our water. Horrible, horrible creatures, and they will tread all over your flower gardens if you let this self-centered “elf queen” have her way!
