Jesus Christ I had to scroll through like, 10 top level comments to find someone with a measure of reason. I’m actually stunned.

Single GSWs aren’t THAT deadly. Quick Google shows about 20%. So after 2000 days everyone is dead, assuming we’re not replacing them ever.

Hey. Pretty sure I have undiagnosed ADHD (literally sitting in waiting room to talk to a therapist as I write this), and I feel like there’s a bit more than just being broken. We’re only “broken” because we don’t conform to the currently agreed upon norms. The world isn’t designed for us. And the quicker we can realize that and make personal and societal adaptations to make these “breaks” more standard, well, we’ll all be better off.

In law enforcement? Probably every day, yeah. The average person, surprisingly not all that often. In fact, law enforcement probably uses it hundreds of times a day, and more importantly writes and reads it hundreds of times a day, thus the acronym.

I’d say the reply from the boss is enough to justify that response. The boss is chiding him for not putting in a 2 weeks notice, calling him unprofessional. From this one interaction you can make a pretty good assumption as to the quality of the boss. The only proper response to someone quitting is either a counter offer or a farewell, not a guilt trip.

It’s almost like the point is to show that depression is a thing that’s not very well treated by having super cool things happen in life. That’s the scary thing. Being successful, but still not being enough for yourself. Having friends having lovers, but still feeling like you’re not worth the time of day. If everyone with depression only suffered from SLS, depression would be way less compelling and way less prevalent.

Because it is relatable to a lot of viewers. Viewers of the show often have depression, which is different from just having shit life syndrome. The two often go hand in hand but are not the same. The scenarios in Mr robot are depression scenarios, not shit life syndrome scenarios.

Shit life syndrome is having no job, having no love, having no hobbies, having no money, etc. Does this make people depressed? Yes, often times. Is this a requirement for depression? Not in the slightest.

I think a big part of the issue is that anime is aimed at teens usually, so it writes teen characters, but then puts them in INCREDIBLY adult situations. It’s easy to either overlook or ignore this character being a high school student when they’re a badass knight, or princess in some other universe, ya know?

Right. Unless something about them is actually represented as a teen, it’s pretty natural to just fit them into whatever demographic you’re in.

This applies to the 9000 year old dragon loli, too. If they’re not portrayed as an ancient elder dragon, and just portrayed as a little girl, they’re just a little girl.
