Clearly its not working, they wanted that up to 100%

One thing I like about space fights is you’ll often see them use the 3 dimensions and that they aren’t just upright. But they really are upright to everything almost all of the time otherwise.

Those aren’t the same, they require the browser to be open.

I don’t know if that means it works with a tab in the background though if the browser is open but you aren’t on their page, but it’d make sense if it did work that way.

Edit: Further looking at this, maybe that’s just on Android. They might work on iOS as expected but only if you add the web app to your home screen as an app, and that’s only in 2023 when iOS 16.4 was released.

Edit: Okay it looks like it should work on Android too, I saw some older stuff. I’m seeing some complaints about delivery times though not being immediate.

Among other things said, you lose access to push notifications / scheduling which a lot of apps are reliant on.

You could have those come in an email instead, but now it’s not personalized to the app or notification type, and if you’re like me, I actually disable alerts on my gmail because most of the things in there aren’t important and it was too disruptive.

Not sure if you saw my edit, but you’re vastly underestimating the cost savings here from simplifying the production lines, which also then carries over into simplified warranty/support. They’re also going to regain this space from the LFP portion of the factory footprint, be able to focus it on the LR battery pack and make things cheaper through efficiencies of scale.

By removing the LFP model they’ve removed all the complexities of how many speakers are in the vehicle and all the other minor changes that were part of the standard range vehicles.

The savings from this are going to be huge.

Edit: Just to put this a different way. At multiple times through Tesla’s history, its been cheaper for Tesla to sell cars with software restricted batteries that costed them thousands of dollars more with potentially no recuperation of that cost, than it was to have different sized battery packs being manufactured.

Even if the base Model 3 had zero sales, it allowed Tesla to post “Model 3 available starting from $X”.

This doesn’t make sense, because if there aren’t enough models being sold, the cost could be immense for the complexities it creates to make a few vehicles.

Edit: Removed part about IRA since I failed to read your 2nd statement. Oops. Thats why it was discontinued yes.

Oh shit i thought that was a software gone wrong they couldn’t easily update.

That’s crazy.

Edit: but they are doing software to fix it, which wasn’t always working at least initially. which still isn’t stopping all thefts. Thefts are still elevated with the update, but less than without.

Edit: this might be why

The institute’s report said theft claims may still be elevated for car models with the new software because the software-based immobilizer activates only if the key fob is used to lock the vehicle; if the driver uses the switch on the door handle, the anti-theft software is ineffective.
