Didn’t the green party in Germany have power in government right now? And weren’t they the same guys who dismantled their nuclear plants?
I’m not very informed on German politics but if the answer to both was yes they should really rename their green party to the coal party.
My country has been voting to condemn Israel’s treatment of Palestine in the UN until 2022 but they will probably vote the same now. As far as I know my country doesn’t support Israel monetarily either so I’m pretty happy.
To be fair EVs only solve the tail pipe emission problem of cars and not like the 50 others. It’s would be much better to focus on public transit and pedestrian and bike infrastructure, that solves more issues and is accessible to everyone.
Is digital nomad the new expat? Like we got a word for it: it’s immigrant.
It doesn’t effect my decision on what to buy or watch. Like I can’t buy chocolate or just basic groceries without supporting slavery so if some person is a massive asshole it would just be hypocritical to boycott them and not the million worse things that you are basically required to monetarily support just to survive.
I’d probably be more selective if I was rich but I don’t have the time or money to fuss about that.
There’s nothing I can do unless I want to become a hunter gatherer. For example if I want to boycott companies that profit from and enable slavery I would need a lot of research time and more money just for basic groceries which I don’t have, that alone brings infinitely more harm to the world than watching content made by some asshat. It’s the phenomenon of no ethical consumption under capitalism.
I do things though as in I’m a member of a local anarchist group and we do political work for candidates that are willing to push our ideas. A lot of that is support for affordable locally sourced food and clothes as well as cooperative business models. I see that as having much more impact than any boycott which are usually useless.
Is central Europe ever even used outside the context of coping about being is eastern Europe?
I’m more in the Slavoj Žižek school of though where everything under the English Channel is the balkans.
Dunno what they are actually called (and I refuse to look it up) but I always called those 6 pin and 8 pin power connectors and people seem to know what I mean.
