A company is not a person. Choosing not to support a company because it ultimately benefits its home country, which is actively waging war, should be considered a negative. Whether it is enough not to use their services is up to each individual. As you said, it is a FOSS application, so if you aren’t using one of their paid plans, how much is it truly benefiting them?

Also, I don’t think this is a “insert current enemy of the West” scenario. Ukraine isn’t traditionally considered part of the West, and it has support from most countries and people worldwide (not just the West).

It is listed, but didn’t include their company name “Office NX” mostly due to space reasons ( I understand though that the full name is the most recognisable).

Sadly, there are too many excellent Canadian options. But thought I would share in case WordPerfect or Open Sourced options would be of interest :)

Those have their own index, but supplement their results from others. Tbh, semi-independent providers would be recommended in their early stages for a like-for-like experience.

Yup, where the companies are headquartered! And the globe is as you said, for decentralised options.

Yeah, just wanted to give some space for the other mail services. But it probably deserves more emphasis https://lemmy.world/post/27983387

Yeah, Librewolf is recommended but only in the deepdive guide (https://lemmy.world/post/27983334). It just isn’t easy to pick up for the average user, so rather keep it for the advanced users.

Yeah, this is further detailed in the deep-dive guide. Not a simple case, but also decided to avoid them in the end as I switched recently.
